Look Good And Feel Great Throughout Pregnancy
13th March, 2010Your pregnancy is probably the time of your life when you will be most conscious of your body. You see huge changes in its shape over the nine months as well as having a big focus on your diet. Some women absolutely blossom in pregnancy and seem to emit a glow. Others suffer with sickness, acne and feeling ‘blah’.
Many women get acne throughout their pregnancy due to the fluctuations in hormones running around the body. A whole lot of acne and pimple treatments on the market do not actually work on pregnant ladies because the zits are caused by hormonal upheaval and not by bacteria on the skin.
One of the latest things to come out of Asia and take the rest of the world by storm is BB cream. This is an acronym for blemish balm and is very effective at treating and covering acne and other skin problems that commonly occur throughout pregnancies.
Having clearer skin can make you feel a lot better about yourself and more confident as your belly grows and your regular clothes just don’t fit anymore. Once upon a time, not so very long ago, maternity wear was grotesque. You had to make do with a tent dress that made you look like you weighed 1000 pounds. Luckily, times have changed and there is a huge variety of flattering maternity designs for pregnant women that fit your belly in them without making you look like a big top circus tent.
While you are pregnant it is usually okay to still do some exercise. Many women can exercise as they normally would throughout their pregnancies, but you should get the go ahead from your ob-gyn just to be sure. Keeping fit is a very good idea if you can, because labor can be intense and require reserves of energy and endurance. There are also some exercises that can prepare you for the birth by stretching out the groin muscles and strengthening your pelvic floor.
In order to get the best pregnancy work-out, you should consider getting a personal trainer. There are even trainers that cater especially to pregnant women. The pregnant body has some special needs such as ligaments getting softer, so to prepare the body and protect it from injury, training is very useful.
You do not have to feel frumpy and dowdy throughout your pregnancy. Your body is doing amazing things at this time and you should feel like a goddess. All you really need to do to feel good is eat right, get some gentle exercise, buy a couple of flattering maternity outfits and try to enjoy your blossoming bump.
