help change your body

Hello-

I was reading the news on Google the other day and came across this diet tip from Cindy McCain about the best way to lose 30 pounds:

“The best way to lose 30 pounds, she said, was to get out on the campaign trail. As proof: The white pants she was wearing were two sizes too big, she said. This, as Reston points out, comes from a woman who told Vogue that she wears size 0 Lucky Jeans. Not the kind of detail that’s likely to strike a chord of empathy. Or, for that matter, the kind of experience the women in the crowd — any crowd — could replicate. How many will have a chance to hit the presidential campaign trail, as spouses or candidates?” Source

Most of us will not be able to copy Cindy’s weight loss plan, nor would many of us want to.

But the key point is that she is very active and always on the move on the campaign trail.

That’s the key.  You have to keep moving and stay very active.  Walking is one of the easiest exercises you can do.

It’s also the cheapest.

You can wake up in the morning and take a 15-30 minute walk around the block.

Do this before you eat breakfast and just watch how much more energy you have throughout the day.

Get into the habit of staying active and walking whenever you get the chance and you too could drop a pant size or two and before you know it, you’ll have lost 30 pounds.

Thanks for reading.

Have a great day!

How to lose 30 pounds in 30 minutes a day

Wednesday, June 18th, 2008

Hello-

Lose 30 pounds this year in just 30 minutes a day.

Can you find half an hour in your busy day to lose 30 pounds this year?

Yes.

The secret to losing 30 pounds in 30 minutes a day is just taking a walk.

You have to keep moving.

Be active.

Walk around the house, walk around the office, walk around the grocery store, etc.

When you walk for 30 minutes a day, you can burn up to 300 calories or more.  Burning 300 calories per day works out to 30 pounds a year.

If you’re 250 pounds right now, imagine being 220 in just 365 days.

I’m at 245 pounds and for me, a brisk walk will burn 323.4 calories in 30 minutes.  You can check your numbers here

Half an hour of walking per day…

No diet pills

No risky surgery

No fad diets

No starving yourself

It’s so easy a caveman could do it :o)

If you want to get the weight off faster you could jog instead of walk.  That burns almost twice as many calories.  So you could lose 60 pounds a year or 30 pounds in 6 months.

Try this before you buy another piece of exercise equipment that you won’t use or diet program that you won’t follow.

Get up in the morning and walk for 15 minutes away from your house and then after 15 minutes turn around and walk back.  Then eat a healthy breakfast.

You’ll find yourself thinking more clearly and having more energy throughout the day.

Have a great day!

Tips to help you lose 30 pounds

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

Hello-

Today, I wanted to share some tips to help you lose 30 pounds.  Now don’t expect to lose all this weight in a week or two.  That would just be silly.  And even if you did manage to lose that much weight that fast, you most certainly would start to gain it all back and then some.

Studies show that if you go off a diet plan that helped you lose 30 pounds, you will gain more than those 30 lost pounds back over time and you’ll be worse off than before you started that diet plan.

I’m not a big fan of diet plans.  I’m more a fan of lifestyle changes.  I have modified my eatings habits to make it easier for me to lose weight over time without dieting or having to do too much exercise.

“there are no shortcuts or magic shakes or bars that will to be your ticket to Slimville”

Planning your meals ahead of time allows you to have nutritious homemade food instead of burgers and fries. Giving up evening snacks alone could knock off 15 pounds by the end of the year. Plans that force you only to eat certain foods are bound to fail because it’s almost impossible to stick to them, and they are often not balanced to give you proper nutrition.

Eat more vegetables and fruits. Limit meats and concentrated sweets. Eating any healthy food alone isn’t enough for the average person.  When choosing your diet, make sure it is low in saturated fats and cholesterol, also moderate in total fat.

Most people need to have some form of exercise in their weight loss routine.  When you exercise regularly, you build stronger muscles, even if you do not work out with weights. Exercise is another vital component of weight loss and weight management.

You should begin and maintain an exercise program which is based on getting at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week. Research shows that following a weight loss program with support from others significantly contributes to weight loss success.  Get a friend to workout with you and you can lose weight together. Make sure you choose physical activities you enjoy that you’ll keep doing.

Dieting can be frustrating! Diets that claim that you can get to your goal weight in no time with minimal effort can be very attractive and easy to fall for.

Try to avoid dieting because it is usually not maintainable or enjoyable.

I need to lose 30 pounds

Tuesday, December 18th, 2007

Hello-

I need to lose 30 pounds.

I have to get this weight off soon. But how quickly is too quickly? Can I reasonably expect to lose 30 pounds in a month? Many people do. There are tons of diet products being marketed these days with wild claims of losing 30 pounds in 30 days. If someone is severely overweight and is desperate to lose weight, they will believe these claims and buy the diet pills and hope they work just like the previous diets they’ve tried.

You can not expect to lose a pound a day. That is not realistic.

One pound is 3500 calories. You can not have a deficit of 3500 calories a day and be healthy.

This would be starving yourself and cause other health problems if you tried to do it for an extended period of time.

Whether you want to lose 10, 20, or 30 pounds, you have to use some common sense and be sensible about how fast you can lose weight and still be healthy.

I have no wild expectations of losing these 30 pounds in a month. I don’t expect the weight to drop quickly.

I aim to lose the weight gradually and steadily.

And if you need to lose 30 pounds just like me, you should set realistic goals that you can stick to.

Let’s get started.

-Chris
