What is a sensible time period to set as a goal to lose 30 pounds?

15th December, 2008

I want fast results, but not to be unhealthy about it.
What would be a healthy deadline / goal to set to lose 30 pounds through healthy eating and workouts.

Any tips to acheive the above also welcome :)
take it day by day about 1-2 pounds a week would be healthy dont set a time for this then you wont be dissapointed if you have setbacks just eat healthy and exercise as you are doing

i think you should set little goals at a time, like 10 lbs/then another 10 lbs/then another 10 lbs so it's not so overwhelming

6 months minimum. 30 punds will NOT be easy to lose. 2-3 pounds per week is like a maximum healthy weight loss. its not easy to lose 2 pounds a week!!!! UH, unlike the girl below, you are NOT going to lose 15 pounds a month!!!!

Well leave it up to the fat chick to put n her 2 cents worth…but realistically a safe time frame is 2 lbs per week hon.

one and a half pounds per week is considered a healthy maximum. More rapid weight loss generally results in gaining back more than was lost in the first place.
